Alder Lake-X really in the cards at Intel?

0

It’s been a while since Intel capitulated on the HEDT segment. The latest Cascade Lake-X line (10th generation) was launched in 2019. Meanwhile, AMD seems to be sputtering with its Threadrippers. The new generation expected for months will not be released and only the Threadripper 5000 Pro is launched and even then with an extremely low level of availability. In the last few hours, a very hypothetical Alder Lake-X is showing its nose…

Alder Lake-X

An Alder Lake-X range on LGA 1700 socket?

Intel could try to take advantage of the free space that AMD has left. A leak from the latest AIDA 64 update lets us know more. This declination of the Alder Lake family is unexpected, to say the least. These new processors could be Xeon derivatives taking place on a 1700 socket. On the other hand, given the Alder Lake matrix, it is difficult to imagine what they could bring more for a target generally looking for a jump in processing power.

Alder Lake-X Aida 64 As for the launch, some rumors point to an arrival of this next-generation HEDT processor family in Q3 2022, around the same time as the Raptor Lake processor line. Again, considering the evolution promised by Raptor Lake, we are clearly puzzled by this information. So we’ll wait for some more details before making a judgement on the relevance of a lineup that, on paper, seems completely unnecessary.
