Alan Wake II: requirements revised downwards!

0

We recently told you about it here, but Remedy Entertainment is planning to roll out a new patch for Alan Wake II. This will revise the way the game’s engine works, particularly on maps that don’t support mesh shader. As we’ve seen, initial tests have shown that framerates can sometimes double in these conditions.

Following these performance gains, the studio is updating its minimum system requirements for the game.

Alan Wake II: a GTX 1070 minimum to play the game!

Finally, the updated minimum system requirements only concern graphics. The latter now lists GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT as the minimum requirements for playing the game. Note that the rest of the configuration still mentions 16 GB RAM and a Core i5 7600K or equivalent AMD processor. It’s worth remembering, however, that this configuration is intended for gameplay with low graphics quality, at 1080p and 30 FPS only.

To play comfortably in 1080p, you’ll need at least an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT, a Ryzen 7 3700X (or Intel equivalent) and 16 GB RAM. This will enable us to reach 60 FPS, still in 1080p, but with average detail.
