Earlier this morning, we learnt that DeepCool was launching new AK G2 Nyx fans with a new design and digital display on top. In conjunction with this series, the brand is now offering its G2 series, which now incorporates a wooden cover, as we were able to discover on the brand’s stand at Computex.

DeepCool AK G2: wood on a CPU cooler!

DeepCool AK620 G2As with the Nyx series, this G2 range comes in three heatsinks, with the AK620 once again representing the largest model in the series. The latter features two cooling towers with a total of six 6 mm copper heat pipes. The base is not eccentric, so beware of the height of your RAM strips. Mounting can be offset, so that the base will capture the maximum heat from a Core Ultra 200 or AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000. Finally, there are two fans operating at up to 2000 rpm. At full speed, airflow will be 57.76 CFM, while static pressure will rise to 2.78 mmAq.

The AK500 and AK400 represent the mid-range and entry-level offerings respectively. The AK500 will be rather imposing, with a depth of 117 compared to 92 for the AK400. In all cases, we find an eccentric base designed to maximize memory compatibility. While the AK500 G2 benefits from a copper base with five heatpipes, the AK400 sees its four heatpipes mounted in direct contact with the CPU. As for ventilation, in both cases the fan features the same characteristics: a speed of 2200 rpm, an airflow of 63.4 CFM and a static pressure of 3.33 mmAq.

With no display and no software support, these heatsinks will be more affordable than the Nyx range. Expect to pay €39.99 for the AK400 G2, €49.99 for the AK500 G2 and €69.99 for the AK620 G2. However, availability in Europe is not scheduled for the immediate future: January 6, 2026.
