AGESA 1.0.0.4 : beware of a bug preventing your PC from booting !

Ryzen AGESA 1.0.0.4 bugIf we believe chi11eddog on Twitter, the bios containing the AGESA 1.0.0.4 code contains a bug that may affect your Ryzen 5 7600X. Indeed, if the latter has two CCDs, the maj will disable the core 0 of the CPU. The consequence of this? The PC will simply refuse to boot.

Following this problem, the brands MSI and ASRock quickly reacted by removing the incriminated bios from their websites. The same goes for Gigabyte and Asus where this code is no longer included in the manufacturers’ bios update notes.

New updates will be proposed soon with a revised and corrected firmware. In the meantime, if you have updated your bios and your PC refuses to boot, try a restore, the goal being to return to the previous version.
