Acer offers a 4K projector up to 240Hz

If the use of a video projector for gaming is not very developed in our country, some countries are however hot on these products. Acer has understood this and offers the Predator GD711 and Predator GM712, two gaming projectors designed to play at 4K resolution. The main interest of these two versions is to be able to absorb a really high refresh rate. Thus the Predator GD711 promises to offer a resolution of 3840 x 2140 pixels @ 60 Hz or Full HD of 1920 x 1080 pixels @ 240 Hz on PC or 1080p @ 120 Hz on console thanks to its compatibility with the variable refresh rate. Unfortunately, it is not known if 1440P resolution is available and at what frequency.

Acer projector: Imagine a 300″ gaming screen

In other features, we note a maximum brightness of 4000 LED lumens with a contrast of 2,000,000: 1, it is also compatible with HDR10 content. It is announced at 1499€. The GM712 is a slightly lower model, it reaches a brightness of 3600 LED lumens (1450 ANSI), the contrast drops to 10,000:1 and it is offered at 100€ less or 1399€.

On the negative side, we can only regret the connectivity since the video input can only be done through 2 HDMI 2.0 ports. A product that claims to be for PCs but seems to focus on consoles… On the other hand, we can’t help but think of the potential of the case. The GD711 and GM712 are indeed capable of projecting an image of… 300 inches!
