An AMD processor shows up in the Pudget Systems database, and it’s the Ryzen 5 7500F. This new processor raises a few questions about what it offers. Is it a model without an iGPU, or a laptop-to-desktop version? We don’t really know.
Ryzen 5 7500F: a new model without an iGPU?
The Pudget Systems database reveals a new AMD processor, previously unknown to the public. The Ryzen 5 7500F is clearly mentioned, and it’s actually a model with no less than 6 cores. However, this raises a few questions, since we already have the 6-core Ryzen 5 7600 and 7600X on the platform.
For the moment, speculation is rife, with some suggesting a processor without graphics. Indeed, at Intel, the “F” designates CPUs without iGPUs, which is plausible given that the reds mimic the nomenclature of the blues.
On the other hand, TechpowerUp indicates that this could be a desktop-style Phoenix-2 processor. In other words, it would be a monolithic laptop processor (137 mm²) adapted to an AM5 platform. It would also feature an iGPU with four RDNA 3 compute units.
For the moment, it’s hard to say what we’re dealing with, so we’ll have to wait for the launch to find out. Otherwise, we also learn that a Korean reseller was listing this model at $170/$180.
