The JAPANNEXT brand has announced a new generation of PC monitors with the JN-IPS326K-HSPC9. Behind this impossible-to-remember model number lies a monitor equipped with an IPS panel displaying 6K resolution. However, the price remains high, on par with a high-end OLED monitor!
JAPANNEXT: an IPS monitor with 6K resolution!Â
In practical terms, this monitor is unusual due to its resolution. Indeed, 6K or 6016×3384 is clearly not something you come across every day. There are plenty of 1440p monitors available, and the same goes for UHD monitors, but this resolution… It’s much less common, and it’s something better defined than a UHD model.
Beyond this atypical resolution, we’re dealing with a monitor equipped with a 32″ flat IPSÂ panel. JAPANNEXT is mainly aimed at office-related tasks. That’s why we don’t see any crazy refresh rates, just a modest 60Hz with a response time of 8ms. Furthermore, this resolution is higher than Ultra HD, so it’s even more demanding in terms of resources if you’re into video games.
In terms of display, the brand claims a brightness of 500 nits and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. With this, you can count on 100% and 96% coverage of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts, respectively. Here, the viewing angles are 178° horizontally and vertically.
But what’s interesting is the support for Picture by Picture and Picture in Picture features. The former allows two video sources to be displayed side by side simultaneously, while the latter allows a second video source to be displayed in the main display. Finally, this screen includes a KVM switch.
The price tag is not cheap, as it costs €1,399 on the manufacturer’s website.
