We all got it into our heads that with the switch to DDR5 we would have to suffer even more. There are a lot of rumors about the price being much higher than DDR4 and many of us are psychologically preparing ourselves for a DDR5 kit that will be almost 50% more expensive.
A new indication comes from Spain where a DDR5 memory kit from Team Group has been referenced by the online retailer PC Componentes (one of the biggest in the country). So beware, we are on a really basic kit with a capacity of 32 GB. It is composed of two modules of 16 GB that work at a frequency of 4800 MHz with latencies CL40-40-77 and a consumption of 1.1v. But the price is 284,99€ which can reassure. Obviously, the kit is “ugly” since the strips do not have a fairing (heat sinks), and even less RGB lighting. You can find basic DDR4 32GB kits well below 200€. On the other hand, DDR4000 kits like the Corsair Vengeance for example, approach 400€. In China (with the reserves of conversion / taxes) we find Asgard Aesir DDR5 kits still in 4800 but with a more elaborate aesthetic (RGB …) under 300 €.
So the logic would be that the affordable kits are also under 300€ for 32GB.
