AMD appears to be on the verge of launching a new entry-level graphics card: the RX 9050. As for memory, two configurations are emerging: one with just 4 GB and a second, more generous option with 8 GB! In any case, don’t expect a powerhouse!

RX 9050: Configurations with 4 and 8 GB of memory!

A smallGPU:

ASRock RX 9050 Challenger

With this card, AMD appears to be preparing a very small model aimed at the entry-level market. In fact, the chip has only 1,024stream processors, spread across 16compute units. By way of comparison, some of the brand’s APUs, particularly in the mobile sector, have an equivalent configuration. This is notably the case with the Radeon 890M.

As for memory, the two variants don’t have exactly the same configuration. Admittedly, the capacity differs, with 4 GB for the smaller model and 8 GB for the larger one. However, the underlying memory bus is not the same: it is twice as wide on the 8 GB version, reaching 128 bits. Memory bandwidth is therefore directly affected, increasing from 144 GB/s on the 4 GB version to 288 GB/s on the 8 GB version.

A first look at the ASRock Challenger?

Apparently, AMD has begun shipping its graphics cards to its OEM and AIB partners. As for ASRock, a Challenger version is already making an appearance—a card compact enough to fit in most PC cases. This model measures less than 249 mm in length and is two slots thick. The card features two fans and several heat pipes.

In terms of video outputs, it includes two DisplayPorts and a single HDMI port. For now, the TDP is unknown, but the card will require an 8-pin PCIe power connector!
