Lynk+: GPU watercooling made easy!

Clearly, graphics card prices have skyrocketed, and this is all the more true if you’re looking at high-end models. If you look at the price difference between an RTX 5080 Ventus and a Suprim model, it’s enough to make you sweat. What’s more, at entry-level, the card is cooled, but that’s not ideal. As we move upmarket, we can see big gains in temperature, but also in noise. One solution would be to install a custom watercooling loop, but this requires knowledge and time. That’s where a new manufacturer comes in: Lynk+. It promises the performance of a custom loop, with the simplicity of an AIO.

Lynk+: performance and simplicity!

This new brand is based in Berlin… All research and development is carried out here, while production takes place in Guangdong, China, with a sales office in Taiwan. We know from our colleague that Der8auer is involved in this new venture. The brand’s aim is to offer two solutions:

  • Bare waterblock + radiator assemblies that you have to mount yourself on the graphics card.
  • Pre-assembled boards where all you have to do is connect the radiator to the graphics card.

For the moment, we know that the brand is already working with Palit, but discussions are being held with brands such as Zotac, MSI, PNY and Inno3D. Ideally, Lynk+ hopes to recover only the PCBs from the boards to install its own waterblocks, as custom heatsinks are unnecessary.

All you have to do is connect the heatsink/pump/fan to the backplane using a patented screw system, and you’re ready to go. Of course, the waterblock will effectively dissipate the heat emitted by the GPU, memory or VRMs. As for the radiator assembly, it incorporates a high-performance pump and is pre-filled as standard. Last but not least, the various cables are routed through the pipe sheaths for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

What will make or break the brand’s success will be the selling price of these solutions, on the one hand. On the other hand, the size of the catalog will play an essential role: the more products on offer = the greater the chance of selling. What’s more, while the promise is interesting, it is very reminiscent of what Alphacool is already doing with its Eiswolf series!
