Alphacool unveils a new flat distro. The latter is intended for a Fractal Design case, the North XL. It has to be said that this model has met with some success, particularly with its wooden front panel. Naturally, Alphacool has capitalized on the case’s success to offer accessories for custom watercooling loops.
North XL: a flat distro from Alphacool!
In a custom watercooling installation, the role of a flat distro is to organize your system efficiently. It features inputs/outputs positioned to simplify the assembly of your loop, and as you can see, it has eight G1/4″ threads. Enough to easily connect a CPU and GPU block.
Dimensions: 290 (W) x 73 (D) x 69 (H) mm. Despite this, the weight is substantial, weighing in at around 1.3 kg. The internal reservoir capacity is 261 ml, and it’s compatible with D5/VPP, DDCD5/VPP and DDC pumps.
The choice of materials is acrylic. However, the various threads are chrome-plated brass, while the upper part is aluminum. The latter is available in black or white, depending on the style required.
As for price, this type of accessory isn’t cheap – far from it. Expect to pay around €240 in both white and black. Then there’s the price of the pump, waterblocks, tips, tubing and liquid if you want to build a complete loop!
