Thermaltake has announced a new series of cases, the AX Series. The program includes eight new cases in three different chassis types. Be that as it may, we’re dealing with large models designed for workstations and over equipped PCs. The emphasis is on performance!
AX Series: three different chassis!
The AX700: the biggest!
With the AX700, Thermaltake offers us a true workstation chassis. Its imposing dimensions and the fact that it’s mounted on castors doesn’t fool anyone about this model’s intentions. What’s more, it boasts an enormous storage capacity: 2x 5.25″ bays coupled with 18 3.5″/2.5″ slots, clearly enough to build a real storage server. This model is also compatible with XL-ATX, SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB motherboards.
You’ll be able to enjoy watercooling with the possibility of assembling several 420 mm radiators, one at the front and one at the top… You can even go up to 480 mm at the top, while the ventilation supports up to 18 fans in 120 mm.
This case is available with a glass side panel or a steel panel. Black and white colours are available, while the side panels are hinge-mounted and feature an integrated GPU support!
The AX500: a more conventional format!
With the AX500, the brand offers us a reference in a more traditional single-tower format. This case is aimed at a more mainstream audience than the 700 model. The dimensions are more reasonable, despite support for motherboards up to E-ATX, SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB. Of course, there’s still integrated graphics card support and broad component compatibility.
Once again, the 420 mm radiator support is available on both the front and the top of the case. As for ventilation, this model will support up to 14 fans in 120 mm version.
This reference will be available in black and white.
The AX100: an extension of the AX700!
Finally, if you run a business, depending on your needs, the basic configuration of the AX700 may not be enough. The AX100 is an interesting extension. This module can be placed either at the top or bottom of the 700 model, and offers extended storage capacity by featuring two HDD cages with four baskets (3.5″/2.5″) each. If required, the storage slots can also be removed to integrate cooling solutions. We’re talking here about a double radiator support of up to 480/560 mm (4×120 or 4×140 mm).
