We’re still talking about teasers, as it’s NVIDIA that may have unveiled the next design of the reference cards, i.e. the Founders Edition, for the RTX 5000 range. It’s an image that appears in the video below talking about the awards at the GeForce LAN 50 organised by NVIDIA.
Our colleagues at Videocardz have spotted a case containing a graphics card labelled ‘GeForce RTX’. After using software to improve the brightness and resolution, a new design appears that is unlike anything NVIDIA has offered in the past. So it’s conceivable that this could be a model from the RTX 5000 Founders Edition series.
It’s a far cry from the design of the RTX 4000 Founders Edition, as this model appears to have two fans on the front panel. Gone is the push/pull cooling principle. The card is said to have a ‘GeForce RTX’ RGB zone on the top edge, just next to the power connector. As our colleagues point out, this should not be the RTX 5090 which, given its technical specifications, seems far too small. We’ll have to wait a few more days for NVIDIA’s official announcements at CES 2025.
