Dyson is trying its luck in headphones again, after a first attempt by a company called Dyson Zone. You’re not mistaken, we’re talking about Dyson, the vacuum cleaner manufacturer. This version, the Dyson OnTrac, is a hi-fi headset, and on paper, it has a lot going for it. We’ll talk about its technical features later, but the brand is banking heavily on the highly customizable potential of its headphones.

The OnTrac features replaceable ear cushions and earpieces, allowing you to completely change your style far beyond what’s possible with products from other manufacturers. Dyson insists on extensive customization with over 2000 color combinations for the outer caps and ear pads.

From a technical point of view, Dyson OnTrac headphones are equipped with 40 mm neodymium drivers, offering an extended frequency range from 6 Hz to 21,000 Hz. This configuration reproduces deep bass and clear highs. The headset supports SBC, AAC and LHDC codecs through Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, ensuring high audio quality during wireless transmissions.

Another technical highlight is the use of advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology with eight microphones capable of detecting ambient noise 384,000 times per second, reducing noise by up to 40 dB.

As for autonomy, the headset is equipped with lithium-ion batteries offering up to 55 hours of autonomy with ANC activated.

To operate all this, of course, you’ll need to rely on the in-house MyDyson app, which lets you customize audio settings in real time, access personalized EQ modes and receive alerts on harmful noise levels.

Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty: price. The Dyson OnTrac will be available from July 25 at a price of €499 / US$499.
