The Cougar brand announces the arrival of a new fan. The company unveils its Forza 85, an aircooling type heatsink equipped with a 120 mm fan. In addition, it claims maximum compatibility with RAM or cases. Let’s see what it offers on paper.
Forza 85: a rather nice 120mm fan from Cougar!
With its new product, the brand announces a heatsink with rather classic dimensions. It displays 135 (W) x 110 (D) x 160 (H) mm with its fan. Moreover, it remains relatively heavy since it displays 1160 g on the scale, still with its fan.
The ventilation, let’s talk about it since it integrates a single mill in 120 mm. The latter is a MHP120 powered by PWM. The data sheet mentions a speed between 600 RPM and 2000 RPM. At full speed, the air flow will be 82.48 CFM and the static pressure will reach 4.24 mmH2O. In addition, we will notice the very straight shape of the nine blades constituting this mill.
The radiator integrates a total of six heat pipes made of 6 mm nickel-plated copper. These join at the level of a base, also in nickel-plated copper. Moreover, it has the particularity of being eccentric, in order to maximize the compatibility with the RAM. Otherwise, the fins have flattened ends to create a tunnel effect channeling the air flow inside the radiator.
Finally, as far as aesthetics are concerned, there is nothing to complain about with anodized fins. Likewise, there is a brushed aluminum top cover as well as caps on the top of the heat pipes. On paper, it looks good.
For the moment, the only question is the price of this heatsink. For the moment, we do not know its price.
