ROME2D16-NL: two sockets for two AMD Epyc CPUs!

ASRock Rack ROME2D16-NLAs a two-socket card, we find a particularly large model with dimensions of 30.5 cm x 33 cm. A fairly classic EEB format board when it comes to server platforms.

In addition to its two SP3 sockets (LGA4094), we find an important quantity of memory slots. Indeed, this model of card has no less than sixteen DDR4 RAM slots supporting up to 256 GB per slot (4 TB of memory in total). To reach such a capacity, you will have to opt for RDIMM or LRDIMM-3DS.

With this, we can count on a total of five PCIe 4.0 x16 complemented by one PCIe 4.0 x8. Still related to PCIe, we also have two SAS slim that can run PCIe 4.0 x8 or make room for 8 SATA III each. They are also complemented by two Oculink running in PCIe 4.0 x4 or offering four SATA III each.

From the outset, the storage part benefits from four SATA III 6 Gb/s connectors. This is complemented by two M.2 slots that can accommodate SSDs in M.2 22110 max format. Finally, if you want more, you can use the SAS and Oculink connectors to your advantage.

Finally, on the back of the card, the connectivity will be extremely basic with a UID LED button to quickly identify the server. Otherwise, we can count on a VGA video output, two USB 3.2 Gen1 and an Ethernet dedicated to IPMI functions.

Once again, no price, but we are curious to know how much this kind of hardware costs!
