What if Nvidia launched a new RTX 50 in 2026?

During our visits and discussions with certain brands at CES a few weeks ago, we were able to touch on several topics. Naturally, the overall market situation fueled these informal discussions, which took place in a private setting and in a more relaxed manner. In a fragmented and vague manner, three different contacts mentioned the arrival of a new RTX for 2026. Clearly, the news about the Super made us think that this was the topic our contacts were trying to tease us with. Back home, the market situation and the surge in memory chip prices helped to erase this thought from our minds…Until last week, when during a trip to Asia, a member of the OCC team also heard similar things, by completely different sources… But this time it was a little more specific, with a reference positioned above the current 5090.

NVIDIA Titan RTX
This photo, which has been mostly blurred, was published in an article in January 2025 that already mentioned the potential existence of an RTX 50 Titan.

Towards an RTX 50 Titan or 5090 Ti?

Before we share the information we have, it’s important to clarify a few points. The first is that our sources are not the contact of a contact who heard from the husband of the guy who knows Paul or Jacques’s brother. We’re talking about direct, credible, and reliable contacts. The other important point is that we hesitated for a long time before publishing this short article. First of all, because the information seemed incredible to us given the tensions in the market and Nvidia’s desire to prioritize its best chips for AI. Secondly, because our contacts gave us this information even though they are undoubtedly bound by an NDA, and we didn’t want to put them in a difficult position. Finally, because we regularly joke about MLID’s “revelations,” we thought twice before giving them ammunition to use against us.

It’s more than a rumor

So why are we talking about it? Quite simply because five or six different sources, from different countries, working in different companies, make for a slightly more solid basis for speculation than a rumor gleaned from a forum. Especially when we have been cultivating relationships with them for years. But also because it allows us to interpret Nvidia’s policy differently, which seems to have changed in recent weeks, notably by freeing brands from certain design constraints with the big RTX 50s. We’ve seen this with Asus, MSI, and others, launching extreme cards with unbridled BIOS that have been approved by the Green team. These factors make us look at the presence of the Geforce VP during the official launch of MSI’s Lightning Z at CES in a different light. The latter even took the floor to officially express his enthusiasm for the wave of watts that was about to hit the RTX 5090.

The target: third quarter of 2026

A very high-end RTX 50 is therefore in the works and its arrival is even scheduled for Back to School (i.e., the beginning of the third quarter of this year). The industrial process has apparently already begun (design and other aspects). The arrival of this card would have no connection with the Super cards (which are no longer on the 2026 schedule at this time). However, does this mean that we can be certain that this card will be launched? Nvidia has the ability to change its mind very quickly, as it has done in recent years. Do we have any concrete evidence to suggest an RTX Titan or 5090 Ti? Yes, we even think that this card should be released in small batches and primarily in an FE version. As you can see, it’s impossible to be 100% certain about this story, which even as we write these lines continues to confuse us and make us doubt. But we’re still putting a little money on it.
