The Xeon w9-3495X at 5.5 GHz and 1900W under Cinebench R23

Yes, you read correctly, a consumption of 1900 watts for the Intel Xeon w9-3495X overclocked to 5.5 GHz during a benchmark under Cinebench R23. Let’s not forget that the Xeon w9-3495X has 56 cores. It is the Asus team that managed to reach this frequency under liquid nitrogen with a configuration composed of the Xeon but also an ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard, 8 G.Skill Zeta R5 DDR5 and especially two Superflower Leadex power supplies of 1600 watts.

The previous record, as we mentioned in this article, was achieved with a similar configuration but the processor frequency was “only” 5.4 GHz. The composed Asus team obtained a score of 132220 points!

Good news on our side since a copy of the ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard is on its way to our lab and we will have a copy of the Intel Xeon w9-3495X processor in the next few weeks. The particularity of this professional platform is that it has a significant overclocking potential. We can’t wait to see what frequency we can achieve with watercooling and then with LN2. We will certainly need two power supplies to provide the necessary power to the processor!
