After the announcement of the HOF Pro at 8000 MT/s from Galax, we stay in the RAM field but we change of use. Indeed, G.Skill announces its Zeta R5 memory kits for CPU-based platforms Sapphire Rapids based platforms. In short, we move to the workstation type use.

Zeta R5: XMP3.0 compatible RAM for Xeon W-3400 and W-2400!

G.Skill Zeta R5With these kits, we find sets consisting of four or eight bars. Yes, we are talking about quad-channel or octo-channel sets for server CPUs. Similarly, the capacities are significant, starting at 64 GB and reaching a maximum of 256 GB. Of course, to take advantage of this, you will need a suitable motherboard.

On the technical side, the G.Skill announces memory clocked at 6400 MT/s, 6000 MT/s and 5600 MT/s. As for the timings, the fastest kits (in frequencies) are in 32-39-39-102 while the slowest display 28-34-34-89. Of course, everything is compatible with XMP3.0. But to take advantage of the memory OC, you will need a Xeon W-3400X or W-2400X.

Finally, to get an idea of the performance achieved by these RAM kits, the brand shares some results. On an Asus Pro WS W790E-Sage SE and a Xeon W9-3495X and octo-channel RAM clocked at 6800 MT/s, we get 315 GB/s read, 228 GB/s write and 262 GB/s copy.

Well, now we just have to wait for March for the launch. For the prices, it may sting.
