At Computex, on the Noctua stand, we were able to lay our eyes on the next-generation graphics card developed in collaboration with ASUS, the RTX 5080 Noctua Edition. The card’s dimensions and weight were truly impressive. However, it would appear that the card is also impressive by its price!
RTX 5080 Noctua Edition: €1,699!
This card is the result of a collaboration between ASUS and Noctua. While one offers a heatsink and PCB, the other supplies the ventilation… And what a ventilation it is! For this new version, the Austrian manufacturer has fitted not two, but three fans! That’s one more than on previous versions of the card. As these are desktop fans mounted on a graphics card, this inevitably contributes to an inordinately long and thick card.
This time, Noctua supplies its NF-A12x25 G2 fans, their brand-new fans. They’re getting excellent press, and have already won awards for their performance and low noise levels! Mounted on a graphics card, they should work wonders.
Beneath these fans, we find a large structure combining copper and aluminum. A steam chamber dissipates heat from the GPU and memory, while numerous heat pipes run through the dense network of aluminum fins. All of this allows frequencies up to 2730 Mhz while overclocking.
In short, this is an impressive, well-built card. However, it’s a particularly expensive card. In fact, this model retails at €1,699 in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). There, the MSRP for an RTX 5080 is €1059, which means a 60% increase in price! On the other hand, the bill is equivalent to that of the Astral, ASUS’ top-of-the-range model. Now the question is which one you want, given that the Noctua model is only available in brown/beige!
