The base model, equipped with the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor, will retail for $1,750. This price is slightly higher than the initial target of $1,699 previously mentioned by the brand. The base configuration features the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor with the Radeon 8060S graphics chip, 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, and a 1 TB SSD. GPD will also offer a 64 GB / 2 TB version for $2,246, while the high-end configuration with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage will be priced at $3,499. These prices likely correspond to the anticipated launch prices for pre-orders.

The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to begin on September 2, 2026. Pre-orders will include the fan cooling module, although the cost of this accessory has not been disclosed separately. It is important to note that these prices apply globally, confirming the brand’s strategy to enter different markets with a standardized offering.

Actual Availability and Distribution Capacity: The Real Questions

GPD has detailed the reasons why it was unable to reach its $1,699 target. The company points directly to the current memory crisis and states that its procurement team was unable to reduce costs any further. Furthermore, the company’s size limits its bargaining power when purchasing components, unlike major PC brands that benefit from a stronger market position.

The WIN MAX 3 combines the Strix Halo platform with a 9.06-inch OLED display (2,400 × 1,504 pixels) running at 165 Hz. The system supports up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and uses a removable 97 Wh battery. Thanks to the external cooling module, the Strix Halo processor can reach 110 W of power, which is crucial for fully leveraging the AMD chip’s capabilities.

In the Chinese market, GPD has confirmed that purchasing a separate battery module would cost 599 yuan, or approximately $89. Details regarding the other modules have not yet been confirmed. The brand emphasizes its commitment to continuous innovation despite market challenges, stating that the $1,750 price represents the best deal it can offer under current conditions.

The WIN MAX 3 is positioned as an ambitious device that aims to balance raw power with portability. Current constraints in the hardware industry—where component availability and cost structures play a decisive role—obviously complicate the manufacturer’s task. Now, actual availability and user experience will be the sole determinants of this product’s future.
