The Ryzen 5 7600X3D is the little CPU we’re talking about a lot at the moment. It’s AMD’s latest processor to feature 3D V-Cache memory. As we know, this type of memory is particularly beneficial in games. In fact, with the availability of this model on MindFactory, tests are starting to come in, notably from PCGamesHardware, a German media outlet.
Ryzen 5 7600X3D: ahead of the Ryzen 7 9700X in gaming!
As we can see, on average over a panel of games, the processor comes out on top. Particularly helped by its 3D V-Cache memory, the 7600X3D is on a par with the Core i5 13600K and outperforms the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. It has to be said that on this model, the 3D V-Cache memory is applied to the single CCD that makes up the processor. There’s less of the randomness that can occur with Ryzen 7900X3Ds, where one of the two CCDs benefits from this type of memory.
Worse still, for the Ryzen 9000s, it’s a cold shower, as the latest-generation Ryzen 7 9700X is positioned below them. What’s more, earlier this summer AMD tried to do some ‘ damage control ‘ by indicating that Ryzen 7000X3Ds would remain the kings of gaming – and given these results, it’s easy to see why.
As for power consumption, that of this model is completely ridiculous: on average over 6 applications, the processor only draws 55W, compared with 48W when gaming!
Clearly, for €330, if you can afford one of these processors, there’s no need to hesitate.
