As you know, the prices of new generation cards are completely out of control… And brands are jacking up the prices of their products. We’ve seen this at ASUS and MSI, but also at Zotac, one of NVIDIA’s many partners. At Micro Center, in-store, an ASUS RTX 5090 Astral LC was spotted at a crazy price of $3720. Over here, we find the card at over €4,000 on average!

This Astral LC version is a convincing top-of-the-range model, to say the least. The card benefits from a watercooling-based cooling system and a neat design derived from the RTX 4090 Matrix. ASUS currently offers the very best in graphics cards. Once again, prices are very high for this model, and via Reddit we learn that it’s in stock at a Micro Center shop in Dallas. However, the asking price is, once again, exaggerated with a price tag of $3720. NVIDIA’s official retail price for the 5090 is $1999, an increase of around 86%.
In France, the situation isn’t much better, since for one thing the card isn’t in stock… Well, very sporadically. When it does hit the shelves, the selling price is just as stupid, with Infomax and Cybertek offering it for around €4,400 and €3,800 respectively, with an average price of €4,150. As a reminder, the French branch of NVIDIA lists the card at €2,239, an increase of 85.4%, which is fairly equivalent.
In short, there will come a time when consumers will be fed up with spending so much money on these cards, and will stop buying them. In that case, manufacturers will have no choice but to lower their prices. What’s more, we’re talking here about the RTX 5090, which is NVIDIA’s flagship, but the situation is similar for its other cards. At Top Achat, the rare non-Ti RTX 5070s in stock are priced at a minimum of €899. The RTX 5080, meanwhile, is priced at €1,800!
