RDNA 4 GPUs as early as January 2025?

While we’re waiting for the new generation of NVIDIA graphics cards, we’re also waiting for AMD’s new RDNA 4 series. On this subject, Moore’s Law is Dead tells us that by the end of January at least one card will be available, according to him, it’s a 100% certainty!

RDNA 4 available by the end of January?

AMD’s current CEO Lisa Su has herself confirmed that the RDNA 4 range will arrive in early 2025. However, MLID has gone a step further and is 100% confident that the announcement will take place during CES, with at least one card available by the end of January. However, there is still some uncertainty about the FSR4: will it be ready for the launch of the cards? Good question.

In the meantime, with this new generation, don’t expect AMD to go looking for NVIDIA on the same ground as the RTX 5090 or even the RTX 5080. As the brand has confirmed, the company is concentrating on the sector that is gaining market share, the entry/mid-range sector.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can expect rubbish, as rumour has it that the potential RX 8800 XT will offer a level of performance somewhere between an RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX. That’s quite a performance. All that remains is to see what the price will be. But an 8800 XT offering this level of performance for around €600, with improvements in efficiency and ray tracing performance, is a real coup!
