Raptor Lake Next continues to make headlines. As a reminder, Intel plans to launch a new series of processors on its LGA-1700 socket. The situation hasn’t changed, and the goal is to address the high prices of DDR5 memory, which is in high demand in the AI sector. As a reminder, LGA-1700 CPUs support both DDR5 and DDR4; this is Intel’s way of offering an affordable alternative where AMD relies on the AM4 socket. In short, while we’ve already seen an initial leak regarding a potential replacement for the Core i5 14600K, now it’s time for other CPUs in the lineup.Leaker @jaykihn0 is behind this.
Raptor Lake Next: Aleaker reveals more CPU configurations !
No Core i9 or Core 9!
According to the leaker, this new line of processors won’t include any Core i9 or Core 9 models. Indeed, Intel seems intent on reserving the highest-end configurations for its latest series, and the Core Ultra 9 285K is expected to remain the flagship of Intel’s consumer processor lineup. However, we shouldn’t have too much trouble finding the Core i9 14900K on store shelves, so all in all, it’s not a big deal either.
Otherwise, the rest of the lineup is expected to consist of:
- Core 7 with 8 P-cores and 12E-cores and a TDP of 65W
- Core 5 with 8P/8E and a TDP of 125 W—the one we mentioned last time
- Core 5 with 6P/4E and a total of 24 MB of L3 cache
- Core 3 with 4 P-cores and 0 E-cores and a TDP of 65W
To put it simply, we’d have a refreshed version of the Core i7 14700, a new configuration for the successor to the Core i5 14600K, and a new version of the Core i5 14400(T/F) with more L3 cache, whose closest equivalent is the Core i5 14490F without an iGPU. Finally, the Core 3 would be equivalent to the Core i3 14100 with a slightly higher TDP, likely due to higher clock speeds.
