Yesterday, in addition to announcing its top-of-the-range Dark Rock Pro 5 and Dark Rock Elite fans, be quiet! unveiled a number of new fans. Yes, the Pure Wings 3 series was in the spotlight. In fact, these are mills already found with some of the brand’s products… These include the Pure Loop 2 280 and the Shadow Base 800 DX we tested.
Pure Wings 3: two sizes, three variants!
With this new reference, the brand is actually launching two fan sizes: 120 mm and 140 mm. Then there are three versions for each size, with PWM and non-PWM models. The third version has to do with the higher operating speed, known as ” high speed “.
Compared to the Pure Wings 2, the fans have wider blades and a greater curvature. However, it’s clear that we’re dealing with an entry-level model here, as the frame has no silentblocks to dampen vibrations.
As for specifications, the German brand announces (speed – air flow – static pressure):
- 140 mm: up to 1200 rpm – 97.5 CFM – 0.96 mmH20
- 140 mm PWM: up to 1200 rpm – 97.5 CFM – 0.96 mmH20
- 140 mm PWM High-Speed: up to 1800 rpm – 122.6 CFM – 2.44 mmH20
- 120 mm: up to 1600 rpm – 84.8 CFM – 1.45 mmH20
- 120 mm PWM: up to 1600 rpm – 84.8 CFM – 1.45 mmH20
- 120 mm PWM High-Speed: up to 2100 rpm – 101.2 CFM – 2.41 mmH20
For the moment, the fans have only been announced, they are not yet available… And with good reason: sales are due to start on November 7. As for prices, expect to pay €13.90 for a 120 mm fan and €14.90 for a 140 mm fan.
