Gigabyte’s latest motherboard to be listed on the Internet is the X870 Aorus Tachyon Ice. This model is now on display at ProShop, a retailer based in Sweden. This isn’t the first time the store has referenced new motherboards that are still unknown to the masses!
X870 Tachyon Ice: the board referenced, but no photo!

At present, if you browse the Gigabyte catalog of X870(E) cards, it remains fairly empty, and the Tachyon is not yet listed on the brand’s website, despite having been announced by the manufacturer. What’s more, the store’s data sheet is very sparse on details, saying absolutely nothing. The only thing it does say is the price, which is DKK 4,490 (around €600 after conversion).ok
The merchant also lists another similar board in the company of the Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice, its counterpart already seen at Computex, but in Intel socket . Here, the merchant is even stingier, as we don’t even have a price to go on…
In all cases, these cards are so-called “XOC” models. In other words, they are designed for extreme overclocking and feature a number of functions dedicated to the practice. These include, for example, two RAM slots for increased memory frequency and LN² modes. Often produced in limited numbers, these boards are regularly featured in overclocking records.
