Noctua’s NH-D15 G2 is currently the brand’s biggest heatsink. It’s a truly imposing double-tower model that also exploits two new-generation 140 mm fans. However, as usual, the brand is initially offering the heatsink in its original brown/beige colors. But a black version is soon to follow!
NH-D15 G2 chromax.black: for the second quarter of 2025!
On the brand’s new roadmap (our previous article was based on the July 2024 roadmap), we can see that the black version of the D15 G1 is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
In broad outline, we should see a heatsink featuring a black coating on its fins and heatpipes. The fans will also go full black with this chromax.black version… That is, if the company follows its current modus operandi.
However, despite the new black color, there should be no change in the heatsink’s characteristics. In fact, this version should still measure 150 (W) x 152 (D) x 168 (H) mm. The heatsink will be a double-tower design, featuring eight copper heat pipes. The base will also be slightly eccentric so as not to block the first PCIe slot… In addition to offering three different profiles depending on the host platform.
Finally, on the ventilation side, we’ll find a duo of NF-A14x25r G2 fans running at a maximum of 1,500 rpm. They should also handle an airflow of 91.58 CFM and a pressure of 2.56 mmH2O… But all in black.
Price-wise, it’s bound to be expensive, but we can expect a slight surcharge for the black color.
