In September 2023, it became official: ASUS would be taking over the NUC series of mini-PCs originally produced by Intel. Since then, the company has been busy, launching several new products, including the ROG NUC for fans of big performance and small PCs. Today, we learn of the announcement of a new series with the NUC 14 Pro AI from the brand.
NUC 14 Pro AI: a mini-PC with an internal Core Ultra 200!
With this new generation of mini-PCs, ASUS is offering us ultra-compact machines with dimensions of 130x130x34 mm and a weight of just 0.53 kg. To give you an idea, an NH-D15 G2 weighs more than a complete PC, that’s saying a lot!
But what we’re interested in here is the on-board configuration, which includes Core Ultra Series 2. There are two configurations with Ultra 5 226V and 228V, two with Ultra 7 256V and 258V and one with Ultra 9 288V. In any case, each processor is configured with a TDP of 30W.
Unlike the ROG NUC, which had a dedicated GPU up to the RTX 4070, here you’ll have to make do with the graphics integrated directly into the processor. We’re talking about an Arc 130V in the Core U5s and an Arc 140V in the larger models.
Otherwise, when it comes to RAM, the machines come with between 16 and 32 GB of LPDDR5x running at 8533 MT/s. The amount of memory will depend on the processor. Otherwise, for storage, we have a 2280 M.2 slot with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Supported capacities range from 256GB to 2TB.
The connectivity is complete, and you’ll find everything you need to connect peripherals. This new NUC 14 Pro AI even has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4s supporting DisplayPort 2.1. Otherwise, on the network front, we’re treated to 2.5 GbE Ethernet and WiFi 7.
Of course, on the NPU processors on offer, there’s a whole marketing section on artificial intelligence. In fact, these machines are marketed as ‘ Pro AI ‘… And the same goes for the little verse about the Copilot+ PC side of Microsoft.
