A lot of leaks and other more or less folkloric information are circulating about the next RTX 50. As with the writings of Nostradamus, there must be a few truths in the midst of this flood… But to find them, you have to wade through the flood. However, some social network leakers have a much higher rate of verified information than Nostradamus himself. @I_Leak_VN is one such leaker. For the past few hours, he’s been claiming that the RTX 5090 will come with 32GB DDR7 and that to get your hands on one, you’ll have to pay at least $2,000 (or more than €2,000, given the magic $ conversion magic taxes formula).

The RTX 5090 at 2000€…or much more.

Before anyone gets too upset about Nvidia’s venality, let’s remember that the current RTX 4090 with 24GB is rarely sold for less than €1,900 incl. VAT. So either Nvidia decides to fight inflation and maintain the same price as its current top-of-the-range model, or the switch to GDDR7 combined with the novelty effect will result in a price well above the psychological 2000€. Let’s not forget Nvidia’s historical blows: the RTX TITAN arrived in December 2018 at a launch price of $2,499 / €2,699. The RTX 3090 Ti was launched at the very beginning of 2022 for…$1999 / €2249 in Founders Edition.

Finally, after announcing the final invoice price, the arrival of the RTX 3090 Ti in early January 2025 is once again confirmed. Nvidia’s boss will himself be on hand at CES in Las Vegas to make his announcements. However, the card will only be available around January 20.

For beggars like us, we’ll probably have to hope for an “honest” price for the RTX 5070 and a bit of a dream for the RTX 5080. At this point, there’s some uncertainty about the launch dates for the latter two. They too will probably be announced at CES, but we still don’t know whether they will also go on sale in January 2025. For the past few weeks, Nvidia has been progressively closing the taps on RTX 40 GPU deliveries in order to clean up its partners’ stocks.
