Intel 101.4900 driver, up to 34% performance boost on Cities: Skyline 2!

Intel releases a new update for its 101.4900 graphics driver. This new version tackles the latest games. It includes support for Cities: Skyline 2, the latest city builder!

101.4900: ready for Cities: Skyline 2!

Cities Skyline II - Intel 101.4900On the program, Intel is rolling out a driver featuring support for a number of new games. These include Alan Wake 2, Cities: Skyline 2, WRC and Ghostrunner 2.

Compared with the old version of the driver, 101.4887, notable performance gains are announced. The blue ones announce :

  • Alan Wake II (DX12):
    • A framerate increase of around 20% at 1080p with details raised.
    • Framerate increased by around 20% in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Cities: Skyline 2 (DX11) :
    • Framerate increased by around 34% in 1080p with details set to high.
    • Framerate increased by around 26% in 1440p with medium details.

Known issues:

As for the list of known problems, unfortunately it remains hopelessly unchanged. This time, having had no patches, the situation is therefore not going to change, worse, we find one more on Ghostrunner:

  • Intel Arc Graphics Products:
    • Sporadic crashes may occur in game on Ghostrunner 2 (DX11).
    • Corruptions may appear on Total War: Pharaoh (DX11) after a change of resolution on certain displays.
    • Corruptions using Dynamic Resolution Scaling may appear on Starfield.
    • Corrupted textures may be displayed on certain objects and light sources during gameplay on Starfield.
    • Halo Infinite ‘s campaign may lead to crashes on certain configurations.
    • Crashes can also be encountered on Dead by Daylight.
    • Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain models for video enhancement.
  • Intel Iris Xe Max Graphics products:
    • Driver installation may not complete successfully on some notebooks equipped with both Intel Iris Xe and Intel Iris Xe Max. A system restart may prevent this.
  • Intel Arc Control:
    • With some games, Arc Control Studio may incorrectly generate multiple video files.
    • When using an HDMI connection, the “Display” page may incorrectly show DisplayPort in the “Connector” tab.
    • A ” Stream already ended ” pop-up may appear after Capture/Highlights/Broadcast have been activated.
    • Arc Control may not retain global application settings in Overlay mode after a system reboot. To get around this problem, you need to use the application in desktop mode.
