According to our colleagues at Videocardz, based on information from Benchlife.info, Gigabyte may have unveiled a future motherboard built around the Z990 chipset. It’s all supposition, but for us, it makes perfect sense. This future chipset, the Z990, is the successor to the current Z890 and will host the next generation of Intel Nova Lake-S processors.

The design of this AORUS board, which bears no mention of the chipset, is rather flattering. Note the presence of not two, but three 8-pin EPS CPU connectors. This may be due to the announced presence of an Intel Nova Lake-S processor with 52 cores, divided into 16 P-cores, 32 E-cores and 4 LP E-cores.

This AORUS motherboard features four DDR5 memory slots. A fan can be seen, probably included in the bundle, which should optimize cooling of the memory modules. This appears to be magnetic, but still requires a power cable. The processor could be held in place by a “Contact Frame” system, which would keep the processor inside the socket, but here again, these are only suppositions.

As for the rest, visual inspection of the board reveals Gigabyte’s own technologies, including PCIe EZ-Latch UP to release the graphics card, and M.2 EZ-Latch and M.2 EZ-Match mechanisms to install the SSD without screws. Intel Nova Lake-S processors are due to arrive in Q4 of this year, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for more information.
