Currently, at DeepCool, if you’re looking for a top-of-the-range aircooling heatsink, you’ll have to turn to the Assassin IV series. Since the first model was announced, several variations have been offered, including a slim version, models with a digital display on top, and so on. Today, we learn that the Beijing-based brand will be launching a new color, green, for its slim model, the Assassin 4S.
Assassin 4S: a green version announced by DeepCool!
This new version is based on the original slim model, which has been slimmed down to reduce the depth of the product. This is achieved simply by removing the fan located at the rear of the CPU cooler, which now has a single mill. In terms of dimensions, this translates into 147 (W) x 116 (D) x 164 (H) mm. Despite this, the cooler retains its iconic design, with a fully streamlined radiator featuring a strip of metal mesh between the two stacks of aluminum fins. On this green version, the mesh turns green with a few black geometric lines. Structurally, there’s no major change, as the cooler is still in double-tower format. It features two stacks of aluminum fins, each crossed by a total of seven 6 mm copper heat pipes, so that ventilation is provided by a single 140×25 mm fan. The rest of the specifications mention a speed of between 500 and 1800 rpm, with an airflow of 61.25 CFM and a static pressure of 3.76 mmAq. However, a speed selector is available to reduce the speed of the grinder in order to limit noise pollution. Once set to silent mode, the fan will only run at a maximum of 1,450 rpm, with lower airflow and pressure: 48.55 CFM and 2.46 mmAq. In terms of price, this green color means a small extra charge, with the bill rising from 399 yuan (~€49) to 429 yuan (~€52). In France, white and black models retail for around €90.
