CXMT RAM appears to be serving as an alternative supplier for memory manufacturers, since the supply from industry giants Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix is largely being absorbed by the AI industry. For its part, ASUS, as part of its campaign celebrating the 20th anniversary of the ROG lineup, has unveiled screenshots showing the Chinese manufacturer’s memory exceeding 8,000 MT/s. This announcement follows a similar one from MSI, which shared comparable results with its new BIOS updates.

CXMT memory is really taking off right now!

Up to 8,400 MT/s!

ASUS CXMT 8400 MT/s

ASUS is testing the Chinese manufacturer’s memory using kits from Lexar and KingBank, which appear to deliver the most impressive results. Overall, we’ll note that the Lexar Thor RGB memory offers configurations of 2×16 GB at 7,600 MT/s and 2×16 GB at 7,200 MT/s by default. However, ASUS managed to overclock these modules to 8,200 MT/s at CL44 for the former and 8,000 MT/s at CL40 for the latter.

As for KingBank, which was also tested by the brand, its memory ultimately proved to be the fastest, reaching 8,400 MT/s with a CL42. However, it’s worth noting that this kit features a 2×24 GB configuration. By default, it is also the slowest memory, with a frequency of 6000 MT/s.

BIOS updates already available:

Regarding the BIOS, it’s important to note that all these results were obtained using BIOS version 1686, which is already available on ASUS’s global support pages. However, as our colleague points out, the QVL list for RAM compatibility has not yet been updated by the manufacturer. That’s a shame, since all these configurations successfully passed their MemTest tests. Also, just to clarify, the motherboard used was a B850M AYW Gaming OC WiFi7 W—also an AMD platform!
