Corsair launches its RMx Shift, power supplies with side connectors

We spoke to you about it here when they were presented on the brand’s twitter account, but here it is. Indeed, Corsair announces the launch of its RMx Shift power supplies. A series that has the particularity of having a remote connector on the side.

RMx Shift: a remote connector in an unconventional place!

Corsair RMx Shift

On the menu, we find a total of four blocks offering powers of 750W, 850W, 1000W and 1200W. We are thus confronted with models offering rather high powers. Despite everything, we find a certification 80+ Gold, guaranteeing us an output of 92% to 50% of load!

Internally, Corsair does not tell us too much, however, we know that we find Japanese capacitors in 105°C. Otherwise, the cooling will be provided by a 140 mm fan adopting a semi-passive operation.

However, what interests us most here is the connectivity, entirely modular on the one hand. On the other hand, it is its unconventional location that we notice. Indeed, the latter migrates to the side of the casing. Thus, when the power supply is installed in the case, the cables are directly accessible from the back of the motherboard tray. Much more convenient if you want to add/remove cables quickly. The only requirements are that the case must be at least 210 mm deep and 210 mm wide, and that there must be access under the power supply cover.

As for the price, it will be necessary to count :

  • 175.90 € for the 750W model
  • 191,90 € for the 850W model
  • 241,90 € for the 1000W model
  • 285,90 € for the 1200W model

Rather high prices, especially if you consider the Pure Power 12 M from be quiet!
