The AMD 8000G :

AMD has just announced the arrival of a new series of processors. Let’s start with the 8000G series, featuring integrated graphics. There are four new processors: Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 5 8600G, Ryzen 5 8500G and Ryzen 3 8300G. Note that the latter will not be sold individually, but only in configurations sold by the brand’s partners. Naturally, these new processors are compatible with AM5 platforms. These APUs feature AMD’s latest CPU and GPU architectures (Zen 4 and RDNA 3).

The integrated graphics will be a Radeon 780M (12 CU) for the 8700G, a Radeon 760M (8 CU) for the 8600G and a Radeon 740M (4 CU) for the 8500G. Both top-of-the-range models also benefit from AMD Ryzen AI, which we’ll look at in more detail later.

AMD compares the performance of its graphics solution on the Ryzen 7 8700G with an Intel configuration featuring an i5-13400F processor coupled with a GTX 1650. The performance achieved by AMD is between 0.89 and 1.31x better. In the near future, it will be interesting to see whether it’s possible to play in “good conditions” with an 8000G series processor without using a graphics card.

These new AMD 8000G processors will be available on January 31. As for pricing, AMD says the Ryzen 7 8700G will be priced at $329, the Ryzen 7 8600G at $229 and the Ryzen 8500G at $179.
