ASRock unveils its AMD TRX50 and WRX90 motherboards

Since the announcement of the next AMD Threadripper Pro and non Pro, various manufacturers have been unveiling motherboards capable of accommodating them. As a reminder, AMD will be offering two new chipsets: the TRX50 and WRX60. After ASUS and Gigabyte, it’s ASRock’s turn to unveil its two motherboard models: the ASRock WRX90 WS EVO and the ASRock TRX50 WS.

ASRock TRX50 WS:

This is the model that will accommodate both Pro and non-pro processors, and is built around the TRX50 WS chipset. It features 4 DDR5 RDIMM ECC memory slots for up to 7,600 MT/s and an 18 3 3-phase power stage. But the element that has caused the most reaction on social networks is the presence of active cooling for the VRMs. There are no less than 4 fans to keep the power stages cool.

This may seem surprising, but let’s not forget that the strongest of the new Threadrippers boasts no less than 96 cores. If you decide to try your hand at overclocking, this active cooling system will certainly come in handy. Its big sister, the WRX90 WS EVO, does not yet have a product page on the ASRock website, but it too benefits from an active cooling system. The other big difference is that WRX90 models will benefit from 8 memory slots, compared with 4 for the TRX50 chipset.
