ASUS is at it again, and is set to offer a new ‘Dhahab Edition’ card. As a reminder, the brand unveiled an RTX 5090 with gold and emerald hues symbolising the luxury of Middle Eastern countries. At the time, the card was sumptuous, with Arabic script on its shell. It was a limited edition, intended for sale in the Middle East. However, we have learned that the brand is preparing a new version, an RTX 5080 Astral Dahab for those who are “a little less rich”!
RTX 5080 Astral Dahab: the same, but with a smaller GPU!
Looks-wise, we find a card similar to the RTX 5090 of the same name. The shroud has a golden hue, with Arabic lettering. If there are no changes, these should signify strength, courage and unity. Emerald-coloured lines are also present on the back of the card around the last fan. Finally, the backplate should undergo a few minor adjustments to adapt to the GB203, but we should also see an illustration of the skyscrapers that are very common in the major cities of the Middle East. This is a sign of development and wealth.
Of course, the big question is what the brand has in store for us in this respect. For the time being, we’re talking about a “Core” version, but it remains to be seen what the card’s frequencies will be. Will they be factory overclocked, or will we be entitled to a specific OC version?
According to our colleagues, the 5090 of the same name was unveiled in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and is due to be sold in the same area. However, since its announcement, nothing more has happened, and this model has not been seen on sale. Perhaps ASUS is waiting for the arrival of the RTX 5080 Astral Dahab to put the cards on sale, or maybe we’re dealing with a private sale system, who knows.
