AMD launches the Ryzen 5 7400F under the radar!

AMD took advantage of CES to present us with a new processor: the Ryzen 5 7400F. On paper, it’s very similar to the non-X Ryzen 5 9600, with its six cores. However, it’s a processor that should come in at a very, very affordable price. Enough to please those on a tight budget or who don’t want to invest too much in their PC!

Ryzen 5 7400F: a small six-core CPU!

Naturally, this new model will be mounted on an AM5 socket and will target the entry-level sector. Although it has six cores and twelve threads in Zen 4, its frequencies are much lower than those of a Ryzen 5 7600 or a Ryzen 5 9600. In fact, this newcomer will run from 3.7 to 4.7 GHz, while the models just mentioned run from 3.8 to 5.1 GHz and 3.8 to 5.2 GHz respectively.

Otherwise, the cache capacity remains identical to that of other Ryzen 5s, with 32 MB of shared L3. The TDP is 65W, so expect moderate heating. What’s more, given its low TDP, the box includes a Wraith Stealth radbox . This will help you out while you’re looking for a real cooling unit, or if your cooling system breaks down.

Unfortunately, the retail price is not yet known. However, TechpowerUp estimates it at around $150. Remember that the Reds also offered a similar reference under the name Ryzen 5 7500F, but this model is simply not available to us, or else via system integrators and OEM machines.
