Last week, we spoke briefly about a potential future Ryzen 5 7600X3D. Now, new rumors are starting to emerge about its price and target audience, and there’s bound to be some disappointment.
Ryzen 5 7600X3D on the way to a $249 price tag?
Broadly speaking, the processor is not expected to offer any significant change from the current 7600X. In fact, we expect to see a 6-core, 12-thread processor. What is new is the addition of more cache memory via the integration of a 64 MB 3D V-Cache die . This would push the cache quantity to 102 MB including the L2. However, a slight drop in frequency is to be expected.
What interests us here is the selling price of this solution. According to Moore’s Law is Dead, AMD plans to sell its new processor for around $250… The MSRP has not yet been finalized, but it’s in the pipeline. In any case, we can expect a price tag somewhere between that of a Ryzen 7 7600X and a Ryzen 7 9600X.
Now, this is the news that might not please, since it’s a CPU that wouldn’t be available to the general public. Unfortunately, the chances are that this model will not be available in the DIY sector, but will be aimed at OEMs and system integrators.
