ASUS has unveiled a new graphics card, the ROG Astral White series. If you’re looking to assemble a white configuration, with the current choice, you won’t be turning to the Astral series. For the time being, this series really only offers two colours, black and gold, for a limited edition with geographical restrictions!
ROG Astral White: white is the colour!
In itself, this series of graphics cards retains the four-fan heatsink of the regular range. So we have three fans on the front panel and one mounted on the back, on the backplate. This model remains as imposing as ever, with a thickness of three slots and a length of over 30 cm – a real cinder block! The brand also takes cooling seriously, opting for a steam chamber, eight heat pipes and a large network of aluminium fins.
However, as you will have noticed, the fairing is white, but retains a little RGB lighting. The latter remains discreet and present in the form of a border, notably on the top edge and around the left fan. For the moment, there are two ROG Astral graphics chips: the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, which will also be available in white.
For the moment, we know that this colour refers to the air-cooled versions, but nothing has been confirmed for the LC models… For the record, these versions are cooled using an all-in-one watercooling system.
Finally, this series is positioned in the high-end segment of the ASUS nomenclature. It remains to be seen how much extra the switch to white will cost. White is often a more expensive colour, due to lower production volumes and lower demand.
