Inevitably, as the number of cores in processors increases, so does power consumption. This in turn has an impact on the heating of the processors and, by a rebound effect, on sales of cooling systems. According to Danawa Research, which is conducting a study in South Korea, dual-tower coolers are selling just as well as single-tower models!
Dual-tower fans neck and neck with single-turn models!
The results of the study carried out in South Korea show that double-tower ‘aircooling’ heatsinks are seriously gaining market share against single-tower models. It has to be said that there are significant differences between single and double tower models, the latter being larger, offering a larger heat exchange surface and better performance. They are also better suited to cooling large processors.
More concretely, in December 2022, single-tower models clearly dominated: 71.37% market share compared with 20.64% for dual-tower. But by August 2024, dual-tower were dominating the sector, with 46.35% share against 44.65%. Since then, single models have regained the lead, but the gap is not significant: 46.57% vs 42.07%. By the way, you’ll have noticed that the two combined don’t add up to 100%, which is normal, as the last eleven percent relate to top-flow and other heatsinks.
Now, you should also know that in Korea, the most popular CPU coolers are models equipped with 120mm fans. In 2024, these accounted for almost 70% of the market, leaving 140mm models with just 1.4%. In second place were 130 mm coolers (16.88%), followed by 100 and 92 mm models (5.53% and 4.55% respectively).

Finally, it would appear that DeepCool is an extremely popular brand in Korea. The company alone has a 24.38% market share, ahead of Thermalright (10.39%) and Cooler Master (7.06%). Over there, the top three are DeepCool, 3RSYS and PCCooler. Now, the reasons for DeepCool’s success are simple: efficient, well-built and affordable heatsinks. When you see models like the AK620 or the Assassin IV, it’s easy to see why the brand has managed to establish itself easily in this market.
