14th generation: no i9-14900K, i7-14700K & i5-14600K before October 17

According to the latest rumors, the 14th generation of Intel desktop processors, aka Raptor Lake Refresh, will go on sale in October, almost a month after its initial announcement, which should take place in the next few days at the Intel Innovation 2023 event. A few days ago we unveiled a very broad range for this generation, but the forthcoming launch should concern just 6 processors. These are the Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K and Core i5-14600K. These processors will have a KF variant (without integrated graphics), bringing to 6 the number of references to be launched in the last quarter of 2023.

This 14th generation for desktop PCs will be a simple update, with frequencies revised upwards. However, in recent days, leaked prices suggest a 15% increase over existing 13th-generation processors. At this stage, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt, since Intel can adjust its prices at any time before launch.

One thing is certain, however: this 14th generation closes the lifecycle of the LGA 1700 socket. Existing motherboards with 600 and 700 chipsets should retain full compatibility with the new CPUs.
