Roccat completes its Vulcan keyboard series with a new model. This time, the brand launches a compact model with the Vulcan II Mini. Moreover, this raises some questions, especially regarding the name ” II “. Will the series benefit from a big update in the next few months? It must be said that this series benefited from a launch in 2018 !

Vulcan II Mini: a very small size means a revival for the series?

Roccat Vulcan II Mini With this new keyboard, Roccat has finally decided to enter the market of ultra-compact keyboards. This translates into the addition of a 65% model to its catalog. Overall, this version keeps its directional arrows as well as part of its navigation keys. All this contributes to propose dimensions of 324 (W) x 116 (D) x 31 (H) mm. As for the weight, it is quite light: 542g with its USB cable.

For the rest, we find Titan II Optical switches, linear models. They will require a force of 45g while the point of emphasis is 1.4 mm.

Otherwise, Roccat announces a polling rate at 1000 Hz and an N-Key Rollover. Let’s not forget to mention the presence of an internal memory of 4 MB for saving profiles. Finally, to smoothly animate the Aimo lighting (and everything that goes with it), we have an ARM Cortex M3 processor. Of course, the management is entrusted to the Swarm software of the brand.

Unfortunately, Roccat does not offer a PBT keyset out of the box… Although the brand indicates that its model remains compatible with third-party keysets. The same goes for the detachable USB cable. In addition, we find the usual aluminum cover plate. For the price, the keyboard is not given since it is already announced at 149.99 €.
