This morning, a little tour in China where brands like Vastarmor and Dataland seem to make an “MSI“. By this, we mean that these brands still do not offer RX 7900 Series. Nevertheless, they are important players in the graphics card market in their country!
Still no RX 7900 Series at Vastarmor and Dataland!
For the time being, the two brands still do not offer cards based on the RX 7900 Series from AMD… Even so-called ” semi-custom ” models, i.e. reference cards with the brand’s own box. This is all the more strange since these same brands were doing day-one launches for the RX 6000 Series!
In short, a rather strange phenomenon, especially when you consider that Vastarmor was promoted by AMD for the launch of the cards. Indeed, the brand was mentioned in a press release from the Reds:
” AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards are expected to be available from AMD.com beginning December 13, 2022, and from leading board partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX and Yeston beginning mid-December. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX has an SEP of $999 USD, while the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT has an SEP of $899 USD.”

Only remains to know what caused this delay since these two brands are not the only ones to be affected. MSI has also totally skipped the launch of these cards to show custom models only at CES… And even then, cards with old generation heatsinks. It remains to be seen whether these brands will give any sign of life when the more affordable RX 7000s like the RX 7800 or RX 7700 are launched.
