This Wednesday, October 5 at 3pm ends a first NDA(non disclosure agreement) that allows us to reveal you the pictures of this RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X that we received directly from MSI France. A special thanks to MSI France since it is the only sample available in France! As you know from NVIDIA’s announcement, the RTX 4090 custom will be available from October 12th.

A first ” Suprim Liquid X “:

If the “Suprim” series is very well known at MSI, this is the first time that the brand offers a version with a standalone liquid cooling system of type AIO. The combination of such a cooling system with the “Suprim” series should offer us a high-end card with great performance.

The card will embark a liquid cooling system that consists of a waterblock to keep the GPU and memory chips cool but also a 240 mm radiator to dissipate heat. So we are on an AIO type liquid loop, i.e. pre-installed. You receive your copy of the RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X and you install it directly in your PC.

The two fans that equip the radiator are 120mm MSI Silent Gale P12 models, designed to offer a high airflow with very little noise pollution. If the temperature is cool enough, they will remain at rest. To optimize this cooling, a TORX 5.0 fan cools a heatsink placed on the PCB power stages. This fan is inserted via an octagonal cutout in the brushed aluminum cover.

Two sides of this octagon have an RGB backlighting but also the inscription “Suprim” on the top edge and the logo placed on the backplate, also in brushed aluminum. Finally, you should know that the card has two BIOS: silent and gaming.

Architecture:

This MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X benefits from the brand new NVIDIA architecture, i.e. “ADA Lovelace”. This one was intended to replace the Ampere architecture of the GeForce RTX 30xx launched a little more than two years ago.

This flagship model from NVIDIA has an AD102-300 GPU with 16384 CUDA cores. It has 24 GB of GDDR6X memory with a bandwidth of 1 TB/s and it sees its TDP reaching 450 watts. The speed of this RTX 4090 should be 2 to 4 times faster than the RTX 3090 Ti according to NVIDIA.

Technical specifications:

In terms of frequency, the base frequency is announced at 2235 MHz while the Boost is at …, a little more patience! The 24 GB of G-DDR6 memory run at 1313 MHz (1008 GB/s) on a 384 bit bus.

Our MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X benefits from a very good factory overclocking against NVIDIA’s Founders Edition card, but we’ll tell you more about that in the full card test. The memory frequency is also 1313 MHz.

We find the new 16-pin mini-connector as a power connector. MSI provides in its bundle an adapter allowing to connect no less than four 8-pin connectors. Finally, the card has three DisplayPort 1.4 and an HDMI 2.1 port for the video outputs. As you can see, we used the adapter that comes in the bundle and which is to be powered via 4 PCI-e cables. We are waiting for the CORSAIR 12VHPWR 600W cable in order to combine it with our Corsair HX1500i power supply. See you on October 12th to discover the performance of this MSI RTX 4090.
