The future Threadripper Pro 9000 processors will be launched on July 23rd. Already, AMD’s future spearhead, the Threadripper Pro 9995WX, is proving itself in overclocking with a score of 186800 pts on Cinebench R23 when pushed to 5 GHz on all its cores.
Threadripper Pro 9995WX: already high scores on Cinebench!
Well, in absolute terms, it’s not a world record… Even if 186800 pts sounds like a big score (it clearly is), the world record on Cinebench R23 is still held by safedisk and its 210702 cb with its Threadripper Pro 7995WX.
Broadly speaking, to obtain this score, which is already very high, the processor had to be overclocked to a frequency of 5 GHz on all its cores. Although the cooling system used does not appear to be known, we do know that under these conditions it approached 1000W with 947W, while the temperature reached 98°C! A real monster.
But we know a little more about the CPU ‘s capabilities, since once in stock, with PBO, it achieved a score of 173452 pts, again on Cinebench R23. When pushed to 4.9 GHz, the score rises to 181545 pts and 68224 pts on Cinebench R20. In compression, it achieves 849221 MIPS on 7-Zip, while looping a SuperPi 1M in 8.526s and a PYPrime 2B in 16.076s.
As for the rest, know this isn’t just any processor either, since it’s the spearhead of the Threadripper Pro 9000WX series. It boasts a total of 96c/192t and is based on Zen5 architecture. What’s more, it’s based on an sTR5 platform and features no fewer than 8 memory channels, manages 128 PCIe 5.0 lines and boasts a massive 384 MB of L3 cache, not to mention 96 MB of L2 cache in total. In short, a CPU geared towards the pro world, expected on July 23 at a price of $11699. Now we’re curious to see what experienced overclockers can get out of it. Overclocking records are sure to be broken!
