On its website, AMD unveils the forthcoming specifications of its Threadripper Pro 9995WX processor . As a reminder, this is the most powerful model in the range, benefiting from a large number of cores, higher frequencies and, above all, the Zen 5 architecture. For workstation-type applications, this move to Zen 5 will clearly be beneficial!

Threadripper Pro 9995WX: AMD publishes product sheet!

AMD Threadripper 9995WXFor the most part, AMD has applied its Zen 5 architecture to its AM5 desktop processors. However, the Threadripper series has not yet reached this point – on the contrary, it’s still stuck with the Zen 4 architecture. To bring this little world up to speed, in July we’ll be treated to the Threadripper 9000 series, whose spearhead, the 9995WX, will see its datasheet published by AMD. In concrete terms, the latter does not benefit from an increase in the number of cores. As with the Threadripper 7995WX, it remains limited to 96 cores and 192 threads. Nevertheless, this new spearhead relies on Zen architecture and a 300 MHz increase in boost frequency. The latter now stands at 5.4 GHz. Another element to take into account: better memory support. We’ve gone from 5200 MT/s DDR5 to 6400 MT/s RAM. Last but not least, the Threadripper 9000 series will be split in two, with the regular models on one side and the Pro series on the other. The difference will be in the maximum number of cores: 64c/128t for the basic series versus 96c/192t for the pros. Likewise, the Pro range benefits from support for AMD Pro technologies, eight memory channels and more PCIe lines.
