Decidedly, with the launch of the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT, news is still pretty much confined to AMD. This time, it concerns the RX 7900 XTX, the largest model in the 7000 range. In Europe, the price of this card has dropped to 20% below its recommended retail price.

RX 7900 XTX: the affordable card for €950!

ASRock RX 7900 XTX Phantom GamingCurrently, the store offering the card at the lowest price is MindFactory in Germany. We’re used to seeing rather low prices on computer components in Germany. In fact, it’s often there that the sharpest drops are felt. Firstly, they have a slightly lower VAT rate (19%), and secondly, we imagine that taxation and other factors mean that they can afford to slash prices more than we can.

The German store is offering the card at €949, i.e. €200 below MSRP, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. As a reminder, it was €1,149 on the Old Continent.

At this price, we’re talking about a banger sold at an unbeatable price. Yes, what do we have in front of this RX 7900 XTX? Simply the RTX 4070 Ti, which is taking a beating. Especially since AMD’s card offers twice the VRAM. Yes, an RTX 4070 Ti starts at €840, with prices exceeding a thousand euros depending on the version. There’s no room for hesitation when it comes to both performance and memory quantity.

All the more so as, at this price of €949, we find a version customized by ASRock. The card features an impressive three-fan heatsink, a pretty backplate and a factory overclocked frequency: 2615 MHz vs. 2500 MHz for the reference card.

Unfortunately, while this is a tempting offer, MindFactory still refuses to sell its boards in France. So the €949 price tag isn’t for us. In France, if you’re looking for this model, it will cost you a minimum of €1,040 to €1,100, depending on the version.
