The RTX 4090 performs 66% better than the RTX 3090 Ti?

Well, behind this title a little racy let’s admit it, hides a tweet released yesterday by kopite7kimi which simply announces: “RTX 4090, TSE >19000″… . Beware, as usual, this type of brief is to be taken with tweezers, even big tweezers.

So, to understand what is behind this message, if you are not a benchmark regular , kopite7kimi announces a GPU score above 19000 points under Time Spy Extreme. The GPU score is not the global score but the one calculated on the two GPU tests of the benchmark. So what? Well, 19,000 points is a 66% gain over an RTX 3090 Ti (11400) and over 82% gain over the RTX 3090 (10440). So yes, this will be a new generation of graphics cards but the gain just seems huge. Going back a generation, the benchmark NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti had a GPU score of 6313 points. So the RTX 3090 Ti is currently nearly 80% better than our old RTX 2080 Ti. In the end, even if the score obtained by the future RTX 4090 seems incredible, it is just “logical” if we compare the performance of previous generations. In any case, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to see if this racy brief is confirmed or not!
